Nurse Diana Dellis, BSN, RN, is on campus nearly every day, prepared to assist students with daily medications, injuries, illnesses, and staying healthy. Her office is equipped with basic first aid supplies, SVN machines, and assessment tools required for professional nursing activities. Our School Nurse focuses on prevention and wellness for students and staff, and provides care for students with a wide variety of short term and long term health conditions. She collaborates with families, teachers, students and their healthcare providers to create a plan of care for students with chronic conditions such as asthma, allergies and diabetes. Nurse Diana works with all school staff so they are prepared to recognize and respond to potential emergencies. She serves as a consultant for health curriculum, provides health screening programs, keeps immunization records, and counsels, educates and finds resources for our students and their families.

Nurse Diana also provides our school with daily health messages, or Eagle Energizers, during morning announcements. Our nurse promotes physical activity in the classroom and around our campus to keep students alert, physically fit, and ready to learn. She is the school “coach” for the 100 Mile Club. Her focus is the promotion of good health and lifestyle choices that will keep children strong and happy throughout their lives.

  • 100 Mile Club® is here! 100 Mile Club® is a non-profit organization whose sole mission is to provide to all individuals the opportunity to experience fitness and TRUE personal success by accepting the challenge of running (or walking) 100 miles at school during a single school year. Campo Bello is a part of this special program. Students and staff members count laps on our school walking path during designated recesses throughout the school year. Club members also meet once a week before school as part of our After the Bell program. Club members and their families are invited to attend monthly afterschool “Fun Run” events; other running events, such as the PVUSD 5K Run, may be available to earn extra miles. Members are encouraged to be honest, kind, persistent and caring as they help one another achieve their goals. All students receive registration information at the beginning of the school year, but are welcome to join at any time. Parent volunteers are also needed to assist with recess lap counting.

See Nurse Diana if you have questions about this great program.
