    Dear Pinnacle Community,

Welcome back to Pinnacle High School for the 2018-19 school year. I am looking forward to another great year at PHS! It is extremely exciting to be working with such an outstanding group of students, parents/guardians and staff. This is one of the many reasons why PHS is known as one of the top High Schools in the country.

I would also like to provide you with some background about me. I am originally from Cleveland, Ohio, but moved to Arizona at a very young age. The fact that I am a product of the Paradise Valley Unified School District is a great source of pride for me. My K-12 education took place in PVSchools, and I am honored to be working in a district known for making such a difference in the lives of our youth. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education at the University of Arizona and completed my Masters degree at ASU in Bilingual Education. In May of 2006, I completed my Administrative Certification at Northern Arizona University. Most recently, I finished my of doctoral degree in Educational Leadership at Northern Arizona University.

Professionally, I worked in the Glendale Elementary School District until 2010 as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal. I also served the Desert Cove Community as their principal until 2016, here in Paradise Valley Unified. Additionally, I served as the Paradise Valley Principal Association President in 2016 and was able to gain experiences about our district especially at the high school level.

On a personal note, I have two children (ages 11 and 14) who attend Fireside Elementary and Explorer Middle School. My wife and I spend much of our time attending piano lessons and competitive swim meets with our children. We love playing sports together, reading and enjoying many outdoor activities.

I look forward to working with you in order to continue the excellence that Pinnacle is known for. I believe that collaboration, communication and teamwork are the essential keys in building a positive environment where students gain the necessary experiences they need to become successful college graduates and, ultimately, adults. I consider it an honor and privilege to serve you and I am looking forward to a great 2018-19 school year!

    Educationally yours,

    Chad J. Lanese, Ed.D
