• Ms. Ihnat Ms. Linda Ihnat- Principal - has been a part of Paradise Valley for 44 years.  She attended Cholla Elementary, Shea Middle and was the first graduating class of Shadow Mountain.  Linda received her BA from ASU in Elementary/Special Education.  Her M.Ed. in Elementary Education and her Principal certification from Arizona State.  She taught 5th and 6th grade at Aire Libre and Hidden Hills before moving to Horizon to teach Special Education and then as assistant principal.  She became principal during the 2013-2014 school year.  Ms. Ihnat has been at Horizon for over 23 years.
    Kandice Kelley  Ms. Kandice Kelley-Assistant Principal-I am a native of Arizona. While I have been at Horizon I have taught History, Economics, Spanish, coached track and field, and was the Attendance Dean. Prior to Horizon, I taught one year at Coronado High School. I received my BA from ASU in History and I received my MA in Educational Leadership from San Diego State University.  Go Huskies!
    Chuck O'Connor  Mr. Charles O'Connor- I was born and raised in Springerville/Eagar, AZ and graduated from Round Valley High School. I received my Bachelor of Science degree from Grand Canyon University and I received my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. I started my teaching career in the Paradise Valley Unified School District in 1998 at Echo Mountain Primary School. I have been a coach at Paradise Valley High School, Pinnacle High School, and the best of the best Horizon High School. My administrative career began as an Assistant Principal at Echo Mountain Intermediate, I came to Horizon as the Attendance Dean and now I am currently an Assistant Principal. I so am proud to be a Husky!
    Shelley Strohfus  Ms. Shelley Strohfus-I have been part of Paradise Valley School district most of my life. I attended North Ranch Elementary, Desert Shadows Middle School, and graduated from Horizon High School. I received my BS in Business Management from the University of South Carolina at Aiken and my M.Ed in Educational Leadership from Boise State University. I taught in Phoenix Union High School District and Boise (ID) School District prior to coming back to Horizon. I started at Horizon as the Attendance Dean and now Assistant Principal. I grew up in this neighborhood, love this community and this school.  I'm proud to be part of Husky Nation!
    Katie Pena' Ms. Katie Pena- As an alumnus of Desert Shadows and Horizon, it is great to be back in Husky Nation. After graduating from the University of New Mexico with a BA in Elementary Education, I spent two years in Special Education, working in an Autism Specific classroom. From there, I spent four years teaching middle school English. Since moving to Arizona I have been an eighth grade English teacher and athletic director at Desert Shadows Middle School. I received my Master's in Education Administration and Leadership from Capella University.
