A letter from our principal Dr. Ibi Davila Haghighat
On a professional level….
My profession in education began in 1995 in the state of California. I earned my bachelor degree and teaching certification at the University of California Irvine. I also served the state of Indiana at the elementary and middle school levels and earned my Masters Degree in School Administration and Supervision at Indiana University Purdue University at Indianapolis. I came to Paradise Valley Unified School District in 2000. In 2003, I became an elementary school principal at Indian Bend Elementary. I earned my doctorate degree in School Administration and Supervision from Arizona State University in 2009. Ten years later, in 2013, I began my current journey at Greenway Middle School where I continue to serve a community that is a priority to me.
On a personal level…
I was born and raised in Acapulco, Mexico. The transition to the United States, at 11yrs old, was very valuable to me, as I was introduced to a new language, a new culture and many opportunities became available. My husband and I moved to Arizona in 2000 to raise our family and enjoy the warm weather. I am the proud mother of a sixteen year old son and a twenty-one year old daughter. Away from work, I enjoy spending time with my family, cycling and running. I have a very strong moral compass. It is very important to me to be fair, impartial and consistent when dealing with any type of situation personally or professionally. Open and honest communication is key to me, as I believe it opens the door to better understand each other.
We are proud of our programs that are geared to the special challenges facing middle school students. We also recognize these years are a major transition for parents too. We are here to help you and your student navigate it successfully.
Working for your children,
Dr. Ibi Davila Haghighat
