Lil Pioneers childcare is located at Pinnacle High School, children attend this caring and nurturing program from birth through age three. Hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM - 5:30 PM.
Mini Scholars preschool offers a full day 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM program at Pinnacle Peak Preparatory.
Preschools operated by our Vocational Education programs operate three mornings per week during spring semester at Paradise Valley High School (PVHS) and North Canyon High School (NCHS). At these locations, high school students care for children under the direct guidance and observation of professional staff. This program is open to toilet-trained children aged 3 to 5. The Paradise Valley High location also accepts toilet-trained 2 year olds. Enrollment is first-come, first-served. Little Scholars is a school readiness program for children who have turned 4 years old by September 1st. The curriculum is designed to prepare children for entry into kindergarten through learning experiences that promote development of academic, physical and social growth. It is offered at ten district elementary schools.
Located at all district elementary schools, Mascot Clubs provide a safe and fun place for children to gather before and after school, on recess days, and during school breaks during the school year.
Our Gifted Preschool program is for 4-year-old children who are identified as gifted. We emphasize critical and creative thinking, use an accelerated curriculum, integrated technology and individualization. Our teachers are Early Childhood Certified and hold a Gifted Endorsement. The program is offered at four PVSchools locations.
Our new Montessori Preschool at Mercury Mine for 3-year-olds and 4-year-olds is based on the principles of Dr. Maria Montessori, in which children learn in a specially created environment designed to enhance and develop natural curiosity, creativity and intelligence. The school’s unique setting surrounded by desert foothills, a beautiful desert botanical garden and multiple outdoor learning spaces inspire learning. An experienced Montessori-certified teacher will teach the class at Mercury Mine, and the class size is limited to 22 students.
All PVSchools elementary schools offer free, full-day kindergarten.
Our kindergarten academic program includes 180 minutes of language and literacy instruction and 60 minutes of math each day plus social studies, science and special classes in music, art, physical education and media services. Parents of children who turn 5 years old before September 1 of the enrolling year may register at their neighborhood Paradise Valley school.

Self-contained kindergarten classes are designed for high-achieving gifted and talented students ready to work beyond grade level. All teachers are Early Childhood Certified and hold a Gifted Endorsement. Students in this program also participate in the school’s special areas and are included in all grade-level activities and field trips. To qualify for the self-contained gifted program, students must have an IQ of 128 or more or gifted test scores of 97 or more in one of three areas: verbal, quantitative, or non-verbal.
PVSchools provides special education for students of all ages. Our focus is the most appropriate fit for each student’s individual needs.
