In line with this mission, PVSchools views Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a powerful tool to enhance student learning, and foster responsible digital citizenship of the community. When used intentionally, AI can spark curiosity, personalize instruction, and open new doors to discovery.
However, technology is at its best when it serves humanity. Within our classrooms, AI is to be used to support, not replace, the human connections, and values that define quality teaching and learning.
Vision and Guiding Principles
PVSchools approaches AI by amplifying human potential and ensuring universal, ethical, and responsible opportunities in educational settings.
This initiative is informed by cabinet-approved AI frameworks, including NIST AI Risk Management Framework, EdSAFE AI Alliance guidance, and NAU/AIEE resources. Arizona Educational Technology Standards, ISTE Standards, and the AI Assessment Scale were also used to support the development of these guidelines.
Ongoing Development and Feedback
As artificial intelligence continues to advance rapidly, PVSchools is releasing AI Use Guidelines early to help establish a shared language and consistent expectations for students and staff. PVSchools encourages teachers and students to share feedback, questions, and concerns so the district can refine the resource collaboratively.
