When Dr. Lee announced his intended retirement late last month, we realize many of you were surprised.  Since he’s been superintendent for ten years, he’s probably the only one you’ve known. While we regret his decision, we support his desire to retire and to take off on new adventures.

The selection of a superintendent is probably the most important thing a school board does.  For this governing board, this is not our first superintendent selection. At the board study session on October 10th at 1 p.m., we will draft a timeline for selection. At that time, the board will determine whether to seek proposals from professional search firms, etc. Be assured, as is the Paradise way, it will be transparent.  All stakeholder groups will be represented before a final candidate is offered the position.

Our board takes this very seriously. We will act in the best interest of our children and our community to the best of our abilities.

On behalf of the Board,

Nancy Case
