The Paradise Valley Unified School District (PVSchools) is seeking its next superintendent. 

PVSchools Seeks a Superintendent Who:

  • Possesses excellent people skills, presents a positive image of the district, and will listen to input and build consensus while being a decision maker. 

  • Possesses the leadership skills required to respond to the opportunities and challenges presented by an ethnically and culturally diverse community. 

  • Inspires trust, self-confidence, and models high standards of integrity and personal performance with the ability to develop and communicate a vision of quality education for the future to the board, staff and community. 

  • Has strong communication skills including speaking, writing, and listening. 

  • Is able to delegate authority appropriately while maintaining accountability. 

  • Is strongly committed to a “student first” philosophy in all decisions. 

  • Is a visionary who is able to lead a large organization dedicated to goals of continuous improvement. 

  • Possesses the ability to enhance student performance, especially in identifying and closing or narrowing the gaps in student achievement. 

  • Promotes a positive and professional environment for district employees and Board.

  • Has experience recruiting and maintaining exceptional staff for the district and schools.

  • Has previous experience that will benefit the long-term financial health of the district.

  • Has experience in the selection and implementation of educational priorities consistent with the interests and needs of students, staff, board and community.

The anticipated process and timeline for the selection of the next superintendent is as follows:

  • Online survey for stakeholders to gather input for developing Superintendent profile.

  • Consultant meets with constituent and stakeholder group representatives.

Stage 2 (continued) February 8, 2021 Governing Board finalizes Superintendent profile for promotional flyer and online application form. 
Stage 3: Recruiting & Screening Week of February 8, 2021 Advertising and recruitment begins.
Stage 3 (continued) March 12, 2021 Deadline for all application materials.
Stage 4: Candidate Presentation Week of March 22, 2021
  • Selection of top candidates for first round interviews.

  • First round interviews conducted.

Stage 5: Selection of Finalist & Future Planning  Week of March 29, 2021
  • Selection of finalists for second round interviews.

  • Second round interviews conducted.

  • Finalist candidates meet with Stakeholder Interview Committee.

  • Finalist candidates participate in Community Forum.
