School Improvement / Supplemental Education Services (SES)
With the passage of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB) legislation, schools and teachers are given assistance in helping students perform at high academic levels through tutoring services.
Parents are now given options for helping their children if they are enrolled in a school that is identified in its second year of improvement. Supplemental Educational Services is one of those options.
Supplemental Educational Services (SES) provides additional academic instruction designed to increase the academic achievement at no cost to the parent. This after-school instruction takes place on the school campus or other public location designated by the provider. The instructor to student ratio is low, usually 1:3. Below you can access a list of current and approved SES providers as well as the application form.

SES Procedures for Enrollment (application process):
PV schools offer continuous SES enrollment for students who attend qualifying schools (see above list). Provider fairs are held in conjunction with back-to-school nights and parent teacher conferences in the October. At the fair, parents may expect to meet approved providers, examine their programs and ask specific questions. Parents then fill out an SES application form.

Indicate first, second and third choice providers when completing the form. The district processes the applications and parents are notified shortly thereafter of the tutoring schedule. If a parent cannot attend the SES Provider Fair, they may contact the SES Site Coordinator at their school for more information.
