Where did October go???
What an exciting month we have had...from the “bee cluster” to the “walk for breast cancer research” to the “hoedown” to new teachers and new classrooms, to parent/teacher conferences! Could we have packed any more into this month?
As I reflect back, here are just a few of our accomplishments for October:
  • We built a wall in the PE room, and converted space into a classroom for the honors class - Kudos to Coach Rosenberg for being so flexible and to Mrs. Carnesi for converting that space into an attractive and stimulating classroom!
  • Ms. Kull and the student council sponsored a walk for breast cancer research, with proceeds going to the Susan G. Koman foundation. Students, teachers, parents, grandparents, and even dogs walked to support this cause. Together we raised $3049.76!
  • We welcomed a new 2nd grade teacher, Ms. Good, who is replacing Mrs. Waddell. Welcome aboard, Ms. Good!!
  • Most of our classrooms experienced 100% attendance by parents at conferences. THANK YOU parents, for partnering with us to make your child’s educational experience one that will open doors to the world for them! I know that I speak for the teachers when I say, we appreciate your support...together we are better!
  • The Sandpiper Hoedown started out looking a little menacing...but by 5:30pm the storm had passed, the temperature had dropped, and we truly experienced a “fall festival” atmosphere! The turnout was GREAT, and fun was had by all! It was heart-warming to see so many families out together enjoying our school family event.

Once again, I would like to take this opportunity to tell you how fortunate I am to be at Sandpiper! I appreciate all of the love and support that has been shown to me. My door is always open (well, Ok, so I am not usually in my office...but Hariann can always find me!) Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can ever be of any assistance. Looking forward to another great month of learning!!
