The International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme
(PYP) is designed for students up to age 12. It focuses
on the total growth of the developing child, touching hearts
as well as minds and encompassing social, physical, emotional
and cultural needs in addition to academic development.
The International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP)
is designed for students aged 11 to 16.
This period, encompassing early puberty and mid-adolescence,
is a particularly critical phase of personal and intellectual
development and requires a programme that helps students
participate actively and responsibly in a changing and increasingly
interrelated world. Learning how to learn and how to evaluate
information critically is as important as learning facts.
The International Baccalaureate Organization’s Diploma
Program (DP), created in 1968, is a demanding pre-university
course of study that leads to examinations; it is designed
for highly motivated secondary school students aged 16 to
19. The program has earned a reputation for rigorous assessment,
giving IB diploma holders access to the world’s leading
universities. The IBO has shown, over the course of 30 years
that students are well prepared for university work.
