WEBMASTER

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.                    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

2.                    Minimum three years experience in website design and maintenance

3.                    Experience with web-based programming languages, e.g. JavaScript, HTML, CSS and PHP, a plus

4.                    Ability to effectively incorporate technology developments into application projects

5.                    Must be knowledgeable of cross-platform issues and the limitations and constraints of HTML

6.                    Strong background in computer graphic design for print and Web

7.                    Technical skills including Photoshop, InDesign and Acrobat, HTML editors (Dreamweaver) and web management tools

8.                    Ability to be organized and creative, to prioritize workloads and schedules and to meet deadlines

9.                    Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills

10.                 Must be able to work with multiple projects simultaneously

11.                 Have a sense of ownership through attention to detail and commitment to quality

12.                 Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

13.                 Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision

14.                 Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with other departments

 

GRADE:                Exempt; Salary Range $45,198 to $60,825

 

REPORTS TO:                    Public Relations Officer

 

SUPERVISES:     N/A

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1.                    Act as the project lead on the design, publishing and maintenance of content for the district web site

2.                    Layout new content, either in existing templates or in new designs and templates

3.                    Develop design and content that keep the site state-of-the-art and are scalable in a high-growth web environment

4.                    Help shape strategic direction for both internal and external sites, including site promotion

5.                    Confer with other departments to gather ideas on content to be displayed

6.                    Be prepared to make time-sensitive changes to the website in support of district needs

7.                    Train departments to use web conversion tools to convert their own documents to HTML

8.                    Edit all final HTML submissions for visual continuity, accuracy of information and proper coding

9.                    Provide design, technical assistance and Website training to school/department Webmasters and other personnel

10.                 Write, edit and design weekly district e-Newsletter

11.                 Use graphic design skills to support various marketing and branding publications, advertisements, etc

12.                 Design, launch and provide reports for district-based surveys using the soft-data management service selected by the district

13.                 Post job descriptions to website

14.                 Other job-related duties as assigned

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Twelve-month year.  Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

 

EVALUATION:  Performance of the job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
