VOCATIONAL TEACHER ASSISTANT –Vocational Preschool Program

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.                    High school diploma or GED

2.                    Desire to work with high school students, preschool children and their parents.

3.                    Mantoux TB test within past 12 months or within 12 hours or hire

4.                    CDA desired but not required

5.                    CPR and First Aide Certification

6.                    Computer skills desired but not required

7.                    Effective communication skills

REPORTS TO:    Vocational Preschool Director

 

JOB GOAL:         Assist the preschool director with the vocational preschool program.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1.                    Assist director/instructor to organize and process information on state regulations in order to maintain compliance with State law.  Must become familiar with state regulations.

2.                    Help director/instructor with the supervision of preschool children.

3.                    Must be willing to obtain and maintain proper credentials regarding day care workers as required by State.

4.                    Help evaluate and maintain records.

5.                    Make sure children’s folders are in compliance with state law (i.e., registration, paperwork, immunizations, fee payments)

6.                    Help director/instructor evaluate and maintain student records.

7.                    Make sure students are in compliance with State law (i.e., tuberculosis testing, training signatures)

8.                    Word processing; making copies of needed materials

9.                    Ordering of supplies/equipment

10.                 Help director/instructor maintain budget

11.                 Shop for supplies/groceries as necessary

12.                 Communicate with parents of preschool parents

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine, ten, or twelve-month year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

 

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
