TRANSPORTATION ROUTER

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School Diploma or GED.
  2. Knowledge of general office procedures
  3. Experience in Microsoft Office Products.
  4. Ability to have or obtain appropriate Commercial Driver’s License.
  5. Effective communication skills.
  6. Experience in scheduling and dispatching school buses.

GRADE: 18

REPORTS TO:  Director of Transportation & Transportation Supervisor

SUPERVISES: N/A

JOB GOAL: To schedule bus routes and other student transportation using computer technology so as to provide safe and efficient transportation.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1.        Establish and maintain a good rapport with employees, students and community

2.        Automate the planning of bus routes and schedules.

3.        Maintain routes, maps, boundaries, and the student database.

4.        Disseminate information regarding run/route information to drivers, schools and parents as needed

5.        Drive school bus as needed.

6.        Other job-related duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine, ten, eleven, or twelve-month year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
