TRANSPORTATION MECHANIC IV – (Formerly Senior Mechanic (Lead)

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High School Diploma or GED
2. Five (5) years experience in total shop management
3. Five years skilled experience in automotive repair
4. School bus certification from an accredited mechanic training program
5. Must have Class B Commercial Driver's License
6. Must be state certified emissions test agent 
7. Effective communication skills

REPORTS TO: Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor

SUPERVISES: All shop personnel

JOB GOAL:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Establish and maintain good rapport with employees, students and community.

2. Must be able to diagnose, maintain and repair all district vehicles.

3. Make recommendations on all aspects of maintenance procedures, parts, and equipment purchases.

4. Responsible for all shop tools and equipment.

5. Other job-related duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine, ten, or twelve-month year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
