TITLE I PARENT LIAISON II

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School Diploma or GED
  2. Two year degree
  3. Previous experience working with school age children
  4. Effective communication skills

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  1. Bilingual Spanish

 

GRADE:  16

 

REPORTS TO:  Principal & District Title I Coordinator

 

SUPERVISES:  N/A

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

        1.               Establish & maintain a good rapport with students, employees & community.

        2.               Strengthen Title I families & their involvement in education of Title I students by encouraging parents to form a strong school-family partnership to support student learning, including partnerships with National Network of Partnership Schools (NNPS), Arizona Parent Information Resource Center (AZ PIRC) & United Parent Council (UPC).

        3.               Participate in & provide leadership on the district & site action teams.

        4.               Contact Title I parents to remind them about conferences & parent night activities.  If necessary facilitate the coordination of Spanish translations/interpretation services through Language Acquisition.

        5.               Organize & help distribute any Title I parent/student learning materials to be sent home; including copying parent newsletters provided by district office.

        6.               Help develop & distribute yearly Title I parent survey.

        7.               Provide input on Title I Parent Involvement Policy.

        8.               Participate in & serve as a liaison for the United Parent Council (UPC).

        9.               Inform parents about summer school & extended day programs.

    10.               Assist with program evaluation procedures.

    11.               Arrange home visits, parent workshops and other activities in order to promote the goals & objectives of school Title I programs.

    12.               Other job-related duties as assigned.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine, ten or twelve-month year.  Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

 

EVALUATION:  Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the BoardÕs policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
