SECURITY GUARD, LEAD

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School Diploma or GED.
  2. Ability to provide training experiences for security guards and duty aides.
  3. Effective communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1.     Previous experience as a Security Guard or Duty Aide preferred.

2.     Private security or public police experience preferred, including knowledge of school and local laws.

3.     Previous supervisory experience preferred.

GRADE: 12

REPORTS TO: Administration

SUPERVISES:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

In addition to the job description listed for the position of Security Guard or Duty Aide, this position is responsible for:

  1. Maintain and establish positive rapport with students, employees and community.
  2. Develop and deliver training for Security Guards at their site.
  3. Act as liaison between the Security Guards and site administration.
  4. Assisting district administrators in the selection and supervision of security personnel.
  5. Maintaining liaison with local law enforcement agencies.
  6. Assist district personnel in monitoring school safety programs.
  7. Assist in the coordination of the District's Substance Abuse Prevention Program.
  8. Other job-related duties as assigned. 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine, ten, or twelve-month year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
