SECURITY
GUARD
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Private security or public
police experience preferred, including knowledge of school and local laws
(including search and seizure).
- Basic First Aide knowledge
preferred.
- Current Arizona driver's
license and acceptable driving record.
GRADE: 11
REPORTS TO: Administration
SUPERVISES:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Establish and maintain good
rapport with students, staff, and community members.
- Regulates student behavior on
campus, in cafeterias, restrooms, and other open areas.
- Checks passes and
identification cards.
- Supervises detention and
study halls.
- May be required to control
classroom disturbances and defiance of authority.
- Apprehends students suspected
of narcotics, tobacco, or alcoholic infractions.
- Apprehend trespassers.
- Directs traffic and parking
on campus.
- Observes and reports
violations of safety and health codes.
- Help in office when time
permits.
- Transport district vehicles to/from
district Transportation Department.
- Other job-related duties as
assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine, ten, or twelve-month year. Salary and work
year to be established by the Board.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance
with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Services
Personnel.
