SECURITY GUARD

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School Diploma or GED.
  2. Private security or public police experience preferred, including knowledge of school and local laws (including search and seizure).
  3. Basic First Aide knowledge preferred.
  4. Current Arizona driver's license and acceptable driving record. 

GRADE: 11

REPORTS TO: Administration

SUPERVISES:

 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Establish and maintain good rapport with students, staff, and community members.
  2. Regulates student behavior on campus, in cafeterias, restrooms, and other open areas.
  3. Checks passes and identification cards.
  4. Supervises detention and study halls.
  5. May be required to control classroom disturbances and defiance of authority.
  6. Apprehends students suspected of narcotics, tobacco, or alcoholic infractions.
  7. Apprehend trespassers.
  8. Directs traffic and parking on campus.
  9. Observes and reports violations of safety and health codes.
  10. Help in office when time permits.
  11. Transport district vehicles to/from district Transportation Department.
  12. Other job-related duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine, ten, or twelve-month year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board. 

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
