SECURITY GUARD/ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.     High School Diploma or GED.

2.     Private security or public police experience preferred, including knowledge of school and local laws (including search and seizure).

3.     Basic First Aide knowledge preferred

4.     Must be physically able to maintain control of students.

5.     Current Arizona driverŐs license and acceptable driving record.

 

GRADE:  11

 

REPORTS TO:  Administration

 

SUPERVISES:  N/A

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1.     Establish and maintain good rapport with students, staff and community members.

2.     Regulates student behavior on campus, in cafeteria, restroom and other open areas.

3.     Checks passes and identification cards.

4.     Supervises all student activities before, during and after school hours.

5.     May be required to control classroom disturbances and defiance of authority.

6.     Apprehends students suspected of narcotics, tobacco or alcoholic infractions.

7.     Apprehend trespassers.

8.     Directs traffic and parking on campus.

9.     Observes and reports violations of safety and health codes.

10.  Help in office when time permits

11.  Bus duty as assigned (e.g., assisting driver and students with adaptive equipment and monitoring physical welfare of students.

12.  Other job related duties as assigned.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Nine, ten, or twelve-month year.  Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

 

EVALUATION:  Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the BoardŐs policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
