QUALIFICATIONS:

1.                  Current Arizona R.N. License

2.                  Current CPR Certification

3.                  Experience working in pediatrics

 

GRADE:         31

 

REPORTS TO:  Principal

 

SUPERVISES:  n/a

 

JOB GOAL:  To facilitate/enhance the delivery of Special Education services to students with disabilities.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1.                  Makes initial and ongoing nursing assessments to determine nursing diagnoses for students with disabilities.

2.                  Creates nursing care plans consistent with the educational goals.

3.                  Maintains a safe environment.

4.                  Maintains a current knowledge base of pediatric nursing including knowledge of special procedures specific to the students through continuing education and professional activities.

5.                  Maintains a system for the documentation of nursing care.

6.                  Participates as a member of the multidisciplinary team involved in creating and evaluating the Individualized Education Plans for students with disabilities.

7.                  Maintain effective communications with parents, staff and students.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Nine, ten, or twelve-month year.  Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

 

EVALUATION:  Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
