REGISTERED NURSE, EXTENDED SCHOOL YEAR PROGRAM

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Current Arizona R.N. License.
2. Current CPR Certification through Arizona Heart Association
3. Experience working in pediatrics.
4. Experience working with special needs children.

REPORTS TO: ESY Program Director.

SUPERVISES: N/A

JOB GOAL: To facilitate/enhance the delivery of Special Education services to students with disabilities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Makes initial and ongoing nursing assessments to determine nursing diagnoses for students with disabilities.
2. Follows nursing care plans in the delivery of care.
3. Maintains a safe environment.
4. Maintains a system for the documentation of nursing care.
5. Participates as a member of the multidisciplinary team in the ESY program.
6. Maintains effective communications with parents, staff and students.
7. Travels with the children to and from the ESY program to ensure safe transit.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine, ten, or twelve-month year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
