PROPERTY CONTROL TECHNICIAN II (previously Accounting Specialist)

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High school Diploma or GED.
  2. Knowledge of Fixed Asset accounting procedures as set forth in the Uniform System of Financial Records.
  3. Minimum of 3 credit hours of college math or equivalent.
  4. Experience with computerized accounting systems and Microsoft Office.
  5. Must possess a valid Arizona driver's license.
  6. Physical ability to stand, walk, stoop, crouch, turn, reach, lift, punch, pull, crawl, and climb stairs/ladders.
  7. Effective communication skills.

REPORTS TO: Department Administrator or Property Control Technician III

 

SUPERVISES: Property Control Technician I

 

JOB GOAL:

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Establish and maintain a good rapport with students, employees and community
  2. Direct day-to-day operations of Property Control.
  3. Interpret chart of accounts and codes and reviews purchase orders and payments for compliance with the chart of accounts.
  4. Maintain accounting records for Finance and Property Control.
  5. Accurately input financial data into the computer.
  6. Prepare reports as required by State and Federal laws, Governing Board Policy, and as needed by administrators.
  7. Provide technical assistance to subordinates and other district personnel.
  8. Communicate effectively with staff, community, schools, vendors, and governmental agencies.
  9. Perform limited duties of immediate supervisor in supervisor's absence.
  10. Reconcile various accounting records.
  11. Other job-related duties as assigned.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine, ten, or twelve-month year. Salary and work year to be established by the

Board.

 

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
