– SAFE & SUPPORTIVE SCHOOL GRANT
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous experience working
with school-age children
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of community resources
- Experience in conducting
trainings, workshops & classroom presentations
PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bilingual Spanish
- Associates Arts Degree or
greater

REPORTS TO: Safe &
Supportive Grant Coordinator
ESSENTIAL
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Establish & maintain good relationships with school, district & community
members to increase attachment (connection) to school.
- Member of the Safe
& Supportive Schools Grant Leadership Team.
- Attend Safe &
Supportive Schools Grant Trainings.
- Assist social
workers/counselors in the referral of students, in consultation with their
parents, to appropriate community resources.
- Provides parent
information via school website, school internet radio, community radio
& TV broadcasts to the Spanish speaking community to facilitate
involvement, attachment & student recognition.
- Member of the
Student Assistance Program (SAP)/Student Intervention Team.
- Attend SAP
trainings & team meetings.
- Assist with the
implementation of the SAP; faculty trainings, parent education classes
& student support groups to include assessment, referral, crisis
intervention & advocacy.
- Member of the
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS) Team.
- Attend PBIS
trainings & team meetings.
- Assist with the
implementation of PBIS.
- Assist with the implementation
of staff training, parent education & community programming as related
to the S3 grant.
- Member of Freshman
Programs Team & Peer Mentor Program transitioning incoming eighth
graders to high school to increase connection & target at-risk students.
- Member of School
Climate Team to assist coordinating school performances & campus
beautification as it relates to PBIS goals of increasing studentsŐ
connection to school.
- Member of the Media
& Marketing Team to assist in student production of radio & video
projects as it relates to PBIS goals of increasing studentsŐ connection to
school & recognition of student works & accomplishments.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine, ten or twelve-month year. Salary and work year to be established
by the Board.
EVALUATION: Performance of
this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the BoardŐs policy
on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
