PARA EDUCATOR – COMMUNITY EDUCATION PRESCHOOL PROGRAM

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School Diploma or GED (copy required immediately upon hire)
  2. Current CPR & First Aid certification or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire (district to provide training)
  3. Mantoux TB test within past 12 months or within 12 hours of hire
  4. Arizona DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card required; can be obtained upon hire - $69. fee deducted from first pay
  5. Effective communication skills

 

GRADE:  9

 

REPORTS TO:  Preschool Teacher/Site Administrator

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

        1.               Establish & maintain positive rapport with students, employees & community.

        2.               Facilitate needs & safety of student.

        3.               Work as an active participant in collaborative team model; attend team meetings, in-services & other trainings as requested by teacher or administrative staff.

        4.               Assist teacher with implementation of classroom management & instructional objectives.

        5.               Complete a minimum of 18 verifiable hours of approved training per Department of Health Services regulations.

        6.               Implement Arizona Department of Health Services, Office of Childcare Licensure regulations.

        7.               Other job-related duties as assigned.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine, ten or twelve-month year.  Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

 

EVALUATION:  Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the BoardÕs policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
