NUTRITION & WELLNESS TECHNICIAN

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. AA Degree or two (2) years experience in Institutional Food Service
  2. Knowledge of Windows-based software.
  3. Knowledge of the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs.
  4. Effective communication skills

GRADE:  21

REPORTS TO:  Director of Food Service  

SUPERVISES:  Office Assistants

JOB GOAL:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Establish and maintain good rapport with community, employees, and students.
  2. Maintain all free and reduced documentation in compliance with the USDA regulations.
  3. Supervise office assistants.
  4. Execute and evaluate verification process.
  5. Assist in annual bid preparation, evaluation, and award.
  6. Work cooperatively with all food service personnel, faculty, parents, and students on the free and reduced application process.
  7. Provide training and support to site managers on free and reduced paperwork and roster maintenance.
  8. Maintain open communication with Food Service Director, Food Service Coordinators I and II, and Central Kitchen Managers.
  9. Other job-related duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine, ten, or twelve-month year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
