NUTRITION & WELLNESS WORKER 2 – ELEMENTARY

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School Diploma or GED
  2. Effective oral & written communication skills
  3. Good health & physical condition
  4. Must have serve-safe certification
  5. Ability to lift 50 lbs.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  1. Knowledge of computerized cash register
  2. Two years experience in a school cafeteria

 

GRADE:  10

 

REPORTS TO:  Nutrition & Wellness Director

 

SUPERVISES:  N&W Worker I and N&W Substitute

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    1.        Establish & maintain good rapport with students, employees & community

    2.        Responsible for daily food ordering, inventory & balancing food sales & daily reports.  (Includes both a full line of Ala Carte items & a Type ÒAÓ meal line)

    3.        Responsible for selling & distributing lunch tickets using district computerized cash system, handling all related monies & doing all necessary reports

    4.        Knowledge of Meal Tracker system

    5.        Responsible for determining whether the quality of food meets the school district & state standards

    6.        Responsible for ordering food from outside vendors

    7.        Responsible for estimating & placing all food orders to central kitchen

    8.        Responsible for all food portions meeting established standards

    9.        Train, direct & supervise N&W Worker I & N&W Substitute

  10.        Knowledge of Free & Reduced programs & forms

  11.        Other job-related duties as assigned.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine, ten or twelve-month year.  Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

 

EVALUATION:  Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the BoardÕs policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
