NUTRITION & WELLNESS – SENIOR WORKER (formerly Senior Food Service Worker)

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High school diploma or GED.
  2. Have or obtain a serve-safe certification
  3. Ability to lift 50 lbs and ability to stand for long periods of time.
  4. Knowledge of computerized cash register preferred.
  5. Prefer two years experience in a school cafeteria, including one year in a related specialized area.

GRADE: 12

REPORTS TO: Cafeteria Manager

SUPERVISES: Food Service Worker 1

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, and community.
  2. Responsible for food preparation for high schools and certain items for satellite schools
  3. Maintain standards of quality and quantity as related to production.
  4. Requisition all necessary supplies.
  5. Working knowledge of all necessary kitchen equipment.
  6. Record keeping and production reports and maintain par level inventories.
  7. Follow approved recipes, menus and procedures.
  8. Assume all managerial tasks to be performed in conjunction with or in managers absence (i.e., ordering, invoices).
  9. Other job related duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine, ten, or twelve-month year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
