MEDIA TECHNICIAN
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High
School Diploma or GED.
2. Experience
with Microsoft Office Products.
3. Demonstrated
general clerical experience and knowledge of library operations/terminology.
4. Demonstrated
ability in record keeping, minor book repair, and operation of library office
equipment.
5. Effective
communication skills.
GRADE: 13
REPORTS TO: Librarian
SUPERVISES:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Establish and maintain good
rapport with students, employees, and community.
- Distribute and process
audiovisual equipment and other library materials, and assist in the
selection of equipment and materials.
- Charge-out, check-in and
reshelf books, other library materials, and audiovisual equipment.
- Process materials and
maintain records for school wide reading program.
- Collect library fees.
- Do minor repairs on books,
other library materials and equipment.
- Perform various clerical
duties.
- Edit, compile and update book
list, using computer for updating.
- Train staff and volunteers in
use of library equipment.
- Work with video rack system
(“stack”), design graphic, display dates, etc.
- Tape live television
performances of students’ activities/events.
- Other job-related duties as
assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine, Ten, or Twelve-month year, salary to be
established by the Governing Board.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance
with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Services
Personnel.
