IT SPECIAL SYSTEMS SPECIALIST (formerly IT Telecommunication Specialist)

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.    High School Diploma or GED.

2.    Understand and have experience in enterprise technologies as they apply to, including but not limited to; analog and digital telecommunication and special systems/networks.

3.    Ability to train and coach on technology and information systems.

4.    Ability to work independently, as a team member, and/or organize and take a principle role in department projects, tasks and initiatives.

5.    Effective verbal, written and multimedia communication skills.

6.    Valid Arizona Drivers License and acceptable driving record.

7.    Ability to work well in a K-12 enterprise.

8.    Ability to perform work in flexible shifts, including but not limited to; evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.

9.    Ability to independently lift equipment up to 50 pounds.

10. Ability to work in non-air-conditioned environments.

REPORTS TO:  Director of Information Technology or designee

 

SUPERVISES:  N/A

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1.     Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, department staff, vendors, contractors and community.

2.     Support district systems including, but not limited to; analog and digital, telecommunication, intercom, data, multimedia, television and video surveillance systems.

3.     Deploy, install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and close technologies, throughout the district.  Said support includes, but is not limited to; analog and digital technologies, hard-coded and soft-coded operating systems and applications, and analog and digital networks, facilitated by but not limited to; a prioritization and ticketing system.

4.     Converge analog telecommunication systems to IP-based systems.

5.     Converge special systems/networks as assigned, including but not limited to; data, multimedia, intercom, video surveillance, facility access, energy management, etc.

6.     Assist in the support of all technology tasks, projects and initiatives, as assigned.

7.     Take the principle role and/or serve on a team with other personnel throughout the district, including embracing technical and logistical directions from/to a colleague.

8.     Other job-related duties as assigned.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine, ten or twelve-month year.  Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

 

EVALUATION:  Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the BoardÕs policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
