IT DIGITAL SYSTEMS SPECIALIST

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelors Degree in Multimedia Writing, Technical Communication or Communication
  2. Ability to digitize, organize & deliver diverse curricula content through a variety of technologically rich platforms.
  3. Strong verbal, written, multimedia, interpersonal, creative, analytical problem solving & interpersonal skills.
  4. Knowledge of & experience with:  digital capturing, digital editing, document editing, content management, digital file conversion, web publishing & audio/video file formats.
  5. Organizational skills in digitized content management & delivery, including tagging, mapping & RSS.
  6. Education & experience in visual communication, technical editing & writing with technology.
  7. Experience with content management systems, e.g., Moodle, Sakai, Blackboard, Joomla, etc.
  8. Experience with digital systems, e.g., Google Docs, IP Broadcasting, Social Networking, Streaming, Podcasting, RSS feeds.
  9. Experience with website development, gaming & virtual environments, web-based programming languages, e.g. JavaScript, HTML, PHP-scripting, XHTML & CSS.
  10. Understanding & education on the impact of digital systems & multiple media communication in the learning environment and society as a whole.
  11. Experience in a K-12 work environment.
  12. Ability to work independently, as a team member and/or organize & take a principle role in department projects, tasks & initiatives.

 

GRADE:  Salaried/Exempt $44,000 - $47,000

 

REPORTS TO:  Director of Information Technology or designee

 

SUPERVISES:  N/A

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

        1.               Establish & maintain good rapport with students, employees, department staff, vendors, contractors & community.

        2.               Confer with the PVUSD community on best practices for production of digital resources.

        3.               Produce & organize according to curricular & instructional best practices, commercial, open source, Creative Commons & PVUSD-generated digital content.

        4.               Assist in the support of synchronizing data resources to curricular, instructional, learning & administrative platforms.

        5.               Coach & train others on the production of digital curricular, learning, teaching & administrative resources as determined by the Information Technology Department.

        6.               Support the use of PVUSDÕs network services on all tasks, projects & initiatives throughout the district.

        7.               Take the principle role and/or serve on a team with other personnel throughout the district, including embracing curricular, instructional, technical & logistical directions from/to a colleague.

        8.               Other job-related duties as assigned.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine, ten or twelve-month year.  Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

 

EVALUATION:  Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the BoardÕs policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
