FAMILY SERVICES COORDINATOR

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Two-year degree required (highly qualified)
  2. Bilingual Spanish required
  3. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  4. Ability to provide training to school teams and parents
  5. Effective communication, social and public relations skills
  6. Experience with Microsoft Software Products

REPORTS TO:  District Title Programs Coordinator

SUPERVISES:  N/A

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Establish and maintain a good rapport with school, district and community members.
  2. Strengthen Title I families and their involvement in the education of Title I students by encouraging parents to form a strong school-family partnership to support student learning.
  3. Support Title Programs Coordinator in managing all aspects of Supplemental Educational Services, School Choice, and other programs.
  4. Organize and help distribute information to principals, teachers and parents.
  5. Provide training for and conduct Sed de Saber parent education classes (in Spanish) at Title I Schools district-wide. In-district travel will be required. Some late afternoon and early evening hours may be required.
  6. Recruit schools to join and provide leadership for National Network of Partnership SchoolsÕ Action Teams.
  7. Help review and evaluate Title I Parent Involvement Policy.
  8. Maintain communication with Arizona Parent Information Resource Center (AZ PIRC) and share this organizationÕs benefits with school teams.
  9. Attend and participate in United Parent Council (UPC) meetings.
  10. Assist in the collection and maintenance of data on students and services provided.
  11. Other job-related duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine, ten, or twelve-month year.  Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the BoardÕs policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
