COLLEGE & CAREER SPECIALIST - CLERK III

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School Diploma or GED
  2. Experience with Microsoft Office Products
  3. Previous experience working with school age children
  4. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally & in writing
  5. Ability to related to staff & children in a positive & effective manner

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  1. Bilingual Spanish

 

GRADE:  10

 

REPORTS TO:  Assistant Principal

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

        1.               Establish & maintain good rapport with employees, community & students.

        2.               Coordinate College & Career Center to include college & career information, scholarships, financial aid & other aspects of orienting students to post secondary life.

        3.               Maintain college/career folder for all students.

        4.               Personal interview with each senior regarding post secondary plans.

        5.               Schedule visits for 2 & 4-year college recruiters & Armed Services.

        6.               Assist students with financial aid information.

        7.               Match students to scholarships & financial aid opportunities.

        8.               Compile data regarding scholarships & financial aid.

        9.               Other job-related duties as assigned.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine, ten or twelve-month year.  Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

 

EVALUATION:  Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the BoardÕs policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
