COMMUNITY EDUCATION COMPUTER PROGRAMMER III

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. BachelorŐs Degree in computer science or related field OR certificate of completion of technical training specifically in programming
  2. School district system application & development with Infinite Campus
  3. Excellent communication skills for application development, user training & knowledge transfer
  4. 2 years experience in technical programming & systems development especially in VB6 & VB.net
  5. Proven abilities to analyze data & resolve problems; evaluate & design systems for maintenance or new coding; coordinate & manage project activities; write, document & maintain required programming code in a network & Web environment

 

GRADE:  30-2

 

REPORTS TO:  Director of Community Education

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

        1.               Evaluate, analyze, design & program major systems & system revisions.

        2.               Provide internal consulting services for new projects or system revisions.

        3.               Assist the Director of Community Education in evaluating purchased software.

        4.               Create system & program specifications; debug, test, document, implement, programs, data & applications for new projects or revisions.

        5.               Apply IT standards & procedures to all assigned tasks.

        6.               Report status & progress of assigned tasks to ensure that deadlines are met.

        7.               Coordinate installation of new systems & projects with appropriate user & staff personnel.

        8.               Install release upgrades & new release from Community Education software.

        9.               Assume responsibility of maintaining, rewriting or recommending replacement for custom or purchased computer programs & applications.

    10.               Conduct user & staff training & presentations as required by the Director of Community Education.

    11.               Other job-related duties as assigned.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine, ten or twelve-month year.  Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

 

EVALUATION:  Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the BoardŐs policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
