BUSINESS COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. BachelorŐs degree in marketing, marketing communications, journalism, public relations or related field
  2. Minimum six (6) years experience in public relations, marketing communications or related field
  3. Experience supervising staff
  4. Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office products, understanding of desktop publishing & professional printing processes, ability to work in both Mac or Windows operating platforms
  5. Strong speaking, public speaking & writing skills
  6. Experience directing the creation & delivery of printed & electronic marketing collateral
  7. Ability to deliver quality products on deadline & on budget

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Experience with quality management / continuous improvement principles & practices
  2. Excellent people & problem-solving skills; superior professionalism & judgment
  3. Strong organizational skills & attention to detail

 

GRADE:  Exempt; Salary range $57,880 - $78,000

 

REPORTS TO:  Communications Officer

 

SUPERVISES:  Webmaster

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

        1.               Work collaboratively with a diverse administrator & staff team to create, manage & implement integrated business & marketing communication strategies

        2.               Coordinate communications projects with vendors & contractors for the development & production of printed & electronic collateral, event & promotional materials & website production

        3.               Coordinate the distribution of materials, monitor budgets & contracts

        4.               Serve as internal liaison to school & central office administrators to support site-based customer communication

        5.               Provide writing & editing support for all public information products including:  website content, electronic newsletters, employee communications, community & business presentations, marketing collateral, customer & community communications

        6.               Assist with media relations & community notifications

        7.               Assist in publicizing & promoting school or district programs, activities, accomplishments & initiatives

        8.               Assist with quality management & customer service improvement initiatives, including development and/or acquisition of training materials, coordination of training & conducting training

        9.               Conduct market research & meet with personnel & the public, acting as a liaison & establishing relationships with organizations

    10.               Other job-related duties as assigned.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine, ten or twelve-month year.  Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

 

EVALUATION:  Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the BoardŐs policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
