COMMUNITY LIAISON FOR TITLE VII GRANT 'PROJECT NUESTRO'
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum
of two years college credit (equivalent of AA degree), bachelor's degree
preferred.
- Experience
in working with preschool school age children.
- Bilingual/bi-literate
fluency in English and Spanish.
- Demonstrated
excellence in communication.
- Demonstrated
sensitivity to the viewpoint of others.
- Demonstrated
active and open learner.
- Demonstrated
excellence in social and public relations skills.
GRADE: 20
REPORTS TO: Project Directors.
SUPERVISES: N/A
JOB GOAL: The Bilingual Liaison will provide a vital
communication and support link between home and school to help cultivate
giftedness in ELL students at Echo Mountain Elementary.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Recruit parents for participation in Project
NUESTRO classes and activities.
- Help develop family education program and
schedule.
- Organize childcare learning centers and
activities.
- Assist in parent education in intellectual
development of children.
- Support project activities including Fast
Forward and Discover Process.
- Maintain effective communication between home
and school.
- Assist teachers and school staff in providing
strategies for improved student success.
- Make home visits to further the goals of Project
NUESTRO for improved student academic achievement.
- Assist in the collection and maintenance of data
on students and services provided.
- Maintain flexible hours to support evening
programs.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine, ten,
or twelve-month year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in
accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support
Services Personnel.
